Your application paragraph names unemployment, but does not connect exports to aggregate demand. Solve it by adding the chain: exports fall -> AD falls -> output falls -> unemployment rises.

API key privacy

Free keys stay off our servers.

Marginalia has two feedback paths. Free BYOK uses your own key from your Mac. IB Specialist uses iBacalao's server because that is where the maintained rubric system prompt, updates, usage limits, and subscription gate live.

  1. 01

    You add your key

Free users paste their own Anthropic or OpenAI key inside the Mac app.

    Not sent to iBacalao

  2. 02

    Mac stores it locally

Marginalia saves the key in macOS Keychain, not in plaintext files.

    Keychain only

  3. 03

    Free calls the provider

Capture and OCR run on your Mac, then your Mac calls the model provider directly.

    Local BYOK path

  4. 04

    Specialist uses iBacalao

Paid Specialist sends extracted text to our server for protected rubric prompts, usage limits, and subscription access.

    Our Claude key stays server-side
