Title
Purpose
A precise, investigable title tells the reader what the investigation is about before they read a single sentence.
What to include
- The independent variable (what you change)
- The dependent variable (what you measure)
- The organism or system under investigation
- No vague phrases like 'the effect of things on stuff'
Common mistake
Writing a topic title instead of an investigation title. 'Temperature and enzymes' is a topic. 'Effect of temperature (10–50 °C) on the initial rate of amylase-catalysed starch hydrolysis in Solanum tuberosum' is a title.
Example pattern
Effect of [IV with units] on [DV] in [organism / context]
